We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager (Digital Banking) with strong hands‑on software engineering capabilities to support our technology operations in Indonesia. The role combines software engineering, local IT management, production support, and regulatory compliance.
Core platform architecture and development are primarily managed by the Group Technology Center, while this role acts as the key local technology interface and is expected to grow into a broader local technology leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
1. Software Engineering & System Quality
- Participate in the development, integration, and maintenance of digital banking systems and local components.
- Review code, APIs, system designs, and technical solutions to ensure quality, security, and maintainability.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive root cause analysis and preventive improvements.
- Improve software quality through automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and engineering best practices.
2. Local Technology Management
- Act as the key technology interface between the Indonesia team and the Group Technology Center.
- Translate local business and regulatory requirements into technical requirements and coordinate implementation.
- Coordinate technology delivery across Product, QA, DevOps, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and external vendors.
- Manage local technology priorities, risks, issues, and operational requirements.
3. IT Governance, Security & OJK Audit
- Ensure local technology operations comply with applicable OJK regulations, internal policies, security standards, and IT governance requirements.
- Support OJK examinations, internal/external audits, and maintain required IT documentation and audit evidence.
- Coordinate key controls including access management, change management, incident management, vulnerability management, backup, DR/BCP, and audit trails.
- Work with Risk, Compliance, Information Security, Internal Audit, and the Group Technology Center to remediate technology risks and audit findings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related fields.
- 5–10 years of technology experience, with strong hands‑on software development experience.
- Experience in digital banking, fintech, payments, or financial services is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of backend development, RESTful APIs, microservices, SQL/NoSQL, distributed systems, and system architecture.
- Experience with cloud platforms, Docker/Kubernetes, Redis, message queues, CI/CD, Linux, monitoring, and logging.
- Experience or understanding of IT governance, information security, OJK requirements, IT audit, DR/BCP, and PCI DSS is preferred.
- Strong ownership, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot, or other AI-assisted development tools is preferred.
- Good written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesia; Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
