Job Description

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  1. Work in teams to understand our client’s business in the insurance sector.
  2. Conduct audits of insurance accounting under IFRS 17 using our global audit program and methodology.
  3. Understand the relationships between audit objectives, the need for sufficient audit evidence, and the presentation of conclusions.
  4. Assist in special projects, including IFRS 17 implementation for regional and local insurance clients.
  5. Utilize technology, data analytics, and auditing tools such as Alteryx, Moody, and KPMG-developed audit innovation tools.
  6. Be part of the Financial Services audit unit, offering exposure to other financial institutions, fintech, and related industries.

The Ideal Candidate Should Have

  • A recognised degree in Accountancy or professional accounting qualifications such as CA Singapore, ACCA, CPA Australia, etc.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing a client portfolio from planning to audit execution in the insurance sector.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS (e.g., IFRS 4/17), US GAAP, and SOX-404.
  • Good understanding of business and risk management issues, with familiarity with regulatory and reporting environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and good business acumen.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to deliver quality presentations and well-written reports.
  • Strong project management skills, including team leadership and providing guidance to team members.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
