Instrumentation Engineer (Short-Term Contract) - Immediate Start

Job summary

SeaOwl Indonesia seeks an experienced Instrumentation Engineer for a 1–2 month contract to support reliability and performance of instrumentation systems within the Management / Support field. You will be integrated into the technical support structure and contribute to operational activities.

Responsibilities include design document approval, instrument sizing, vendor bid evaluation, and coordination with process, piping, electrical and QA/QC teams. Immediate start preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in instrumentation, control, electrical or related engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or EPC projects for Instrumentation and Control.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, ISA, API design codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Check details of contract instrumentation and control scope of work.
• Prepare, review and approve instrument design documents and drawings (instrument index, datasheets, loop diagrams, hook-up drawings, cable schedules).
• Perform instrument sizing and calculations (valves, relief valves, flow, level and pressure instruments).
• Review P&IDs and support the definition of control and shutdown philosophy with the process team.
• Prepare technical specifications and requisitions for procurement (field instruments, analyzers, control valves, PLC/ DCS/ ESD panels).
• Evaluate vendor bids and perform technical bid evaluations (TBE).
• Review vendor documents, drawings and certificates for instrumentation and control packages.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (process, piping, electrical, procurement, QA/QC).
• Support fabrication, inspection, and testing activities (FAT, SAT, loop checks, calibration).
• Provide technical support during construction, installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning phases.
