Job summary

World Resources Institute Indonesia is seeking a Heavy Industry Decarbonization Analyst to advance sectoral analytics and policy insights for Indonesia’s heavy industries. The role emphasizes techno-economic assessments, policy design, and engagement with government and industry partners.

The position supports a hybrid work model in Jakarta, with office presence and travel as needed, and requires robust data collection and reporting capabilities in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; master’s preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in industrial decarbonization.
• Deep technical knowledge of at least one heavy industry sub-sector (cement, iron and steel, or chemicals).
• Strong understanding of GHG accounting and the GHG Protocol; NEK/ETS knowledge.
• Proven ability to design and carry out quantitative analysis and build models.
• Experience engaging government, industry, or associations on technical subjects.
• Full professional proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia and English.

Responsibilities

• Conduct sector and techno-economic assessment for heavy industry subsectors.
• Analyze policy, regulatory, and green trade aspects relevant to decarbonization.
• Design primary data collection frameworks and coordinate data gathering in Bahasa Indonesia.
• Prepare knowledge products and support engagement with government counterparts.
• Provide strategic support across program planning and donor reporting.
