A growing company specializing in building materials is seeking an Import Manager who is fluent in Mandarin. The role involves overseeing all import operations from China, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in import or purchasing, particularly in building materials, and demonstrate strong negotiation skills and attention to detail.
We are a growing company specializing in high-quality building materials, including ceramics, granite, marble slabs, sintered stone, and a wide range of sanitary ware (toilets, washbasins, faucets, shower heads, screens, bathtubs, etc.). We are looking for an Import Manager (Mandarin Speaker) to oversee our full import and purchasing operations from China to Indonesia.
Manage the entire import process from China, including shipping arrangements, customs clearance, document handling (PI, invoice, packing list, BL, COO, etc.)
Placing orders and negotiating pricing & terms with Chinese suppliers
Maintaining supplier relationships and sourcing new options when needed
Coordinating with clients and internal sales teams to align purchasing needs with customer demand
Communicate daily with Chinese suppliers and partners – Mandarin fluency (spoken and written) is a must
Ensure imported products meet all regulatory standards, including handling SNI certification and related compliance processes
Collaborate with internal teams (logistics, sales, warehouse, QC) to ensure timely delivery and inventory accuracy
Monitor container arrivals, stock movement, and import cost efficiency
Evaluate and onboard new suppliers as needed
Minimum 3 years of experience in import or purchasing, preferably in the building materials industry (ceramics, granite, sanitary ware, marble, etc.)
Fluent in Mandarin (spoken and written) to coordinate directly with suppliers in China
Solid understanding of import documentation, customs processes, and SNI certification
Experience in managing supplier and client coordination to support order accuracy and customer satisfaction
Strong attention to detail, negotiation skills, and ability to work independently
Proficient in Excel and familiar with shipment or inventory tracking systems
