HSE Officer

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of manufacturing facilities to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with management and employees to develop and deliver safety training programs, including new employee orientation, ongoing training, and specialized training as needed.
• Execute and investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, work permit, job safety analysis, training, and compliance activities.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in health, safety, and environmental management, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Execute annual safety events and safety signage.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, auditors, and other stakeholders on matters related to health, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Participate in emergency response planning and drills to ensure effective response to workplace emergencies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in health and safety, environmental science, mechanical engineering, or related field.
• Professional certification in health and safety is preferred.
• Two years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify hazards, assess risks, and develop effective control measures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
