Job summary

Hempel A/S, Bekasi factory, is seeking an experienced HSE Lead to drive Health, Safety & Environment strategies across the country. You will manage KPI indicators, IMS, and incident response while acting as the site owner for sustainability initiatives and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Tertiary education with 3 years industrial experience, preferably in chemicals.
• Experience in industrial safety and process safety is advantageous.
• Certified Safety and Health Officer is an advantage.
• Experience communicating with local government and authorities.
• Fluent in written and spoken English; good presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the country HSE KPI indicators (Health, Safety & Environment) and IMS.
• Site MR for Health, Safety & Environment (HSE).
• Incident reporting, investigation and CAPAs; NCR implementation.
• Secretary for site safety meetings.
• Site champion for product stewardship—regulatory and compliance, new product introduction (certification and registration).
• Implement local HSE standards and statutory requirements.
• Site owner for sustainability (environment) projects.
• Emergency response manager for site as per local requirements.
• Conduct monthly HSE audits and close actions within timelines.
• HSE training manager—drive 100% training completion.
• Support regional CI, engineering projects, PAP savings projects.

Key responsibilities:

• Responsible person in charge for the country HSE KPI indicators (Health, Safety & Environment); includes Quality management system, legal and all HSE related trainings.
• Responsible as site/country MR for Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and Intergrated Management System (IMS).
• Site incident manager for the site/country responsible for incident reporting, investigation and corrective & preventive actions (CAPAs) & NCR implementation.
• Secretary for the site/country safety meeting.
• Site champion towards product stewardship - regulatory and compliance, new product introduction (certification and registration).
• Responsible for implementation of local HSE standard and local statutory requirements.
• Site owner for sustainability (environment) projects.
• Emergency response manager for site as per local requirement.
• Conduct monthly HSE audits and meetings, monitor and close all actions according to agreed timelines.
• HSE training manager – drive towards 100% training completion.
• Support regional SC, engineering projects, continuous Improvement (CI) and PAP savings projects (e.g. BigFoot, Plant expansion, EIA, NPI etc).

Required education, experience and job-related skills:

• Tertiary education with 3 years industrial experience preferably in Paint & Coatings; Oil & Gas, Petrochemical industries or practical engineering experience and strong knowledge in hazardous material safe handling and controls
• Experience in industrial safety and process safety will be an advantage
• Certified Safety and Health Officer will be an advantage
• Experience in communicating and familiar with the local government and authority policies, rules and regulations
• Fluent in written and spoken English and with pleasant personality and good presentation skills
