Vibe development is seeking an MEP Technician / Hotel Handyman to maintain hotel rooms, public areas, F&B outlets, kitchen and back-of-house facilities in safe and presentable condition.
The role covers inspections, minor repairs, and first-response troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems. You will coordinate with approved contractors when certification or specialized equipment is required.
The MEP Technician / Hotel Handyman is responsible for maintaining the hotel's rooms, public areas, F&B outlet, kitchen and back-of-house facilities in safe, functional and presentable condition. The position performs daily inspections, preventive maintenance, minor repairs and first-response troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, plumbing and general building systems. The role also coordinates with approved specialist contractors whenever repairs require certification, specialist equipment or work outside the technician's authorized competency.
Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, corridors, lobby, public toilets and other operational areas
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and guest-reported defects
Repair or replace door locks, handles, hinges, furniture fittings, curtains, shelves and other room fixtures
Perform minor painting, wall patching, silicone sealing, grouting and basic carpentry
Maintain lighting, power outlets, switches, televisions and other room equipment
Check bathroom fixtures, showers, toilets, washbasins, drainage and hot-water supply
Inspect and maintain electrical systems, plumbing, air-conditioning, ventilation and kitchen equipment
Follow daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual preventive-maintenance schedules
Conduct routine visual checks of fire extinguishers, fire alarms, emergency lights, exit signage and evacuation routes
Record all maintenance requests and maintain equipment and asset registers with service dates, condition and repair history
Minimum high school or vocational qualification in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, building maintenance or a related discipline
At least two years of relevant experience in a hotel, serviced apartment, restaurant, commercial building or similar operation
Practical knowledge of electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning and general building repairs
Basic understanding of preventive maintenance, fire safety and occupational health and safety
Able to use hand tools, power tools and testing equipment safely
Able to read basic technical manuals and maintenance checklists
Basic computer or smartphone skills for reporting and work-order updates
Strong troubleshooting and practical problem-solving ability
Physically fit and comfortable working with ladders, tools and technical equipment
Willing to work shifts, weekends and approved emergency call-outs
