A new boutique resort seeks a General Manager to spearhead its pre-opening and early operations. Kumbara Oasis is a new boutique resort set in Kuta Lombok, combining hospitality, wellness, and immersive guest experiences. Rooted in the values of connection, elegance through simplicity, and holistic living, our resort is designed to inspire presence, vitality, and ease.
We are preparing to launch with 26 suites, 7 villas, a high-end restaurant, and a dedicated wellness centre (spa, sauna, ice bath, and are now seeking a General Manager to lead the pre-opening and early operational phase.
We’re looking for a strategic, hands-on General Manager to take the lead on the pre-opening and launch of Kumbara Oasis. You will work closely with the ownership and consulting team to execute our hotel opening plan, build the team, create operating systems, and ensure the guest experience is aligned with the brand’s vision from day one. This role offers the opportunity to join a values-driven hospitality concept at its foundation.
Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is not required but considered a valuable asset, as the day-to-day operation will involve liaising with local staff and vendors who primarily communicate in Indonesian.
Pre-Opening Phase:
Oversee all aspects of the hotel opening project plan
Hire and train department heads and support staff across departments
Coordinate with construction, interiors, MEP, and procurement teams
Implement hotel SOPs, brand standards, and guest journey framework
Oversee set-up of POS, PMS, OTA, and payment systems
Collaborate with Head Chef and Spa Consultant for F&B and wellness integration
Manage pre-opening budgets and liaise with the finance team
Analyse and transform our existing 7 villa operation to the Kumbara Oasis Standard
Opening & Early Operations:
Lead daily operations across all departments during soft opening
Monitor service quality, guest feedback, and team performance
Refine systems and workflows post-opening
Ensure compliance with all licensing, health, and labour regulations
Report to owners and provide operational recommendations
Has at least 5 years of experience in boutique or lifestyle hotel management, preferably with hotel opening experience
Is confident leading a project from planning to execution across departments
Has strong team leadership, communication, and training skills
Understands how to build culture and systems
Can balance structure and flexibility in a startup-like resort opening phase
Has a proactive, solution-oriented mindset and thrives in remote settings
25-37.5 million IDR per month (commensurate with experience)
