Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead a small, skilled engineering team and oversee maintenance across our properties. You will direct daily tasks, ensure safety and comfort for guests, and manage parts while pursuing waste reduction and green initiatives.

We value four years of building maintenance experience, relevant certifications, and a commitment to hotel standards. Hotel experience is preferred, with professional licences as applicable by law.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in general building maintenance or construction.
• Level 3 EPA Certification, HVAC and refrigeration certificate; licensed plumber and/or journeyman status may be required.
• Hotel experience preferred.
• Professional certification and licence if required by law.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily engineering needs to ensure the right team is on the right task.
• Create a safe, secure and comfortable environment for guests.
• Maintain and order parts and supplies while minimising waste and supporting green initiatives.
• Be flexible to handle ad-hoc duties when tasks require collaboration.
• Build strong relationships with guests, regulatory agencies and other contacts.
