VinFast Indonesia seeks a Head of Quality Engineering to lead the CHS, PWT, and EE quality functions. You will develop strategies, implement standards, and drive improvements across new product development through mass production.
You will monitor KPIs, manage RCAs, and lead a Quality Engineering team across cross-functional R&D, Production, and Purchasing to ensure automotive quality and customer satisfaction.
Lead and manage the Quality Engineering function for Chassis (CHS), Powertrain (PWT), and Electrical & Electronics (EE). Develop and implement quality strategies, standards, systems, and improvement programs aligned with company targets. Lead quality activities from new product development, trial production, SOP, ramp-up, and mass production.
Key responsibilities
Lead and manage the Quality Engineering function for Chassis (CHS), Powertrain (PWT), and Electrical & Electronics (EE)
Develop and implement quality strategies, standards, systems, and improvement programs aligned with company targets
Lead quality activities from new product development, trial production, SOP, ramp-up, and mass production
Monitor and drive improvement of quality KPIs, defect rates, process capability, customer complaints, and quality performance
Establish and maintain effective Quality Control Plans, PFMEA, inspection standards, and process quality requirements
Lead Root Cause Analysis and corrective/preventive actions for major quality issues using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, PDCA, and other methodologies
Coordinate with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, R&D, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, and other cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues
Lead supplier quality improvement and quality issue resolution for relevant CHS, PWT, and EE components
Ensure compliance with applicable automotive quality standards, internal quality procedures, and customer requirements
Lead and develop the Quality Engineering team, including coaching, performance management, capability development, and resource planning
About you
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
Minimum 8-12 years of experience in automotive manufacturing, experience in Quality Engineering / Quality Management
Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial or leadership position within automotive quality
Strong experience in Chassis (CHS), Powertrain (PWT), and/or Electrical & Electronics (EE) quality
Strong understanding of automotive quality standards, quality control systems, and manufacturing processes
Experience in new model development, new project launch, mass production, and quality improvement
Strong knowledge of Root Cause Analysis, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, PDCA, and other problem-solving methodologies
Good understanding of FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, PPAP/APQP, and other automotive quality tools
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify quality risks and drive corrective/preventive actions
Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience managing Quality Engineers and/or Quality teams
