  • The energy transition is partly based on the electrification of energy uses, which requires a massive increase in the supply of green electrons. TotalEnergies is deploying its goal to rank among the top five global producers of solar- and wind-generated electricity by 2030 across the entire renewable electricity value chain (production, storage, trading, and sales). The goal is to reach 35 GW of gross capacity for renewable power in 2025, then 100 GW in 2030.
  • REN Business Unit:
  • Total Renewables Business Unit is at the forefront of the Company’s multi-energy and durable strategy.
  • It covers development, construction, O&M, asset management, and financing of renewable projects: large and small scale (distributed generation) solar, onshore and offshore wind, off-grid energy, storage.
  • Its strategic objective is to accumulate 35 GW by 2025, 100 GW of operational renewables by 2030 (end of April 2023 baseline: 18.2 GW), and become a worldwide leader, safe and innovative, in renewable energies.

  • Projects Division:
  • The Projects Division is central in REN’s onshore value chain and its growth and leadership strategy towards reaching 100 GW.
  • As part of REN's new organization, the Projects division is dedicated to:
    • Managing projects in the development phase, while contributing upstream to the maturation of opportunities harnessed by the Business Developers.
    • Overseeing the execution of post-NTP projects, both during construction and commissioning, and supporting the handover to the Asset & Countries Division for the operation phase.
Activities

ACTIVITIES

The Head of Project Development ensures projects meet all conditions required for construction, including securing and finalizing permits, offtake agreements, grid connection, site acquisition, financing, and contractor selection. The role involves leading a multidisciplinary team on technical, financial, legal aspects, and preparing investment files alongside the Business Development team, which focuses on originating projects and maintaining partner relationships.

The Head of Project Development is specifically accountable for the permitting process, ensuring all necessary permits and approvals are obtained timely and cost-effectively, working closely with regulatory agencies, government officials, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and standards.

Project Development

  • Develops and manages project development plans to deliver projects on time, within budget, and with quality standards, including H3SE considerations.
  • Defines schedules, manages deadlines, conducts risk assessments & mitigation, constructs project budgets, and coordinates internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Oversees relationships with partners, external stakeholders, landowners, authorities, and utilities, ensuring site control, permits, and grid connection are secured.
  • Coordinates financial close processes with Transaction & Finance teams, monitors development risks, and ensures project economics are sound.
  • Prepares management presentations, manages internal approvals, and maintains project data rooms.
  • Manages interfaces with engineering teams, oversees contractor selection, and ensures offtake and interconnection processes are properly structured and managed.
  • Engages with regulatory agencies to obtain permits, manages timelines and budgets for permitting, and ensures compliance during construction.

Pre-Construction

  • Participates in contract strategy, design of scope of work for EPC, and contractor selection.
  • Collaborates with design and engineering teams, reviews drawings, and sets up the project execution team.
  • Oversees procurement of long-lead items, manages RFI and change processes.

Construction

  • Manages the SPV Execution Manager, monitors construction progress, quality, costs, and risks.
  • Ensures compliance with H3SE policies, coordinates with EPC and vendors, and manages project commissioning and handover to operations.

Other activities:

  • Analyzes relevant regulations, industry trends, and contributes to budget exercises.
  • Provides feedback for process improvements based on project experiences.
Candidate Profile

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Master’s Degree / Engineering Degree
  • +10 years of experience in project management within the industry (renewable experience is a plus), or in business development or industrial project architecture.
  • Understanding of technical aspects of the renewable industry, financial modeling, and local regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel regularly.
  • Fluent English required; Bahasa is a strong plus.
