Job Description

Technology Strategy & Leadership

  • Define, communicate, and execute the overall IT strategy and roadmap aligned with the bank's business goals, focusing on agile methodologies, cloud architecture, and cutting-edge financial technology (FinTech).
  • Lead the entire technology organization (Software Development, Infrastructure, Security, Data, and Operations) to deliver scalable, reliable, and innovative digital banking solutions.
  • Evaluate and select emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge and enhance operational efficiency.


Product Development & Engineering

  • Oversee the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) for all banking products, including core banking systems, mobile applications, APIs, and microservices.
  • Ensure the engineering team maintains high standards for code quality, system performance, security, and uptime (SLAs).
  • Foster a culture of rapid iteration, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and technical excellence.


IT Operations & Infrastructure

  • Manage the bank's technology infrastructure, primarily cloud-based, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
  • Optimize IT operational processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining world-class service levels.
  • Oversee vendor management for all IT-related services and hardware.


Risk, Security & Compliance

  • Establish and enforce robust IT security and cybersecurity frameworks to protect customer data, financial assets, and the bank's infrastructure from threats.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all Indonesian financial regulations, including those set by OJK (Financial Services Authority) and Bank Indonesia, particularly related to digital banking and data localization.
  • Develop and manage the IT risk management program.


Team Management & Culture

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers, developers, and IT professionals.
  • Champion a collaborative, transparent, and innovative work environment.
  • Act as a key liaison between the technology department and other executive functions (Product, Risk, Operations, and Finance).

The Successful Applicant

Required Experience

  • Minimum 8+ years of progressive experience in IT, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role (Head of IT, CTO, or VP of Engineering) within a digital bank or highly regulated FinTech company.
  • Non-negotiable: Direct, demonstrable prior experience as a Head of IT, Senior Developer, or Engineering Lead at another digital bank is highly preferred, demonstrating an understanding of core banking systems, regulatory technology (RegTech), and payment infrastructure.
  • Deep technical expertise in cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or GCP), microservices architecture, and API design.
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale, mission-critical systems with high security requirements.




Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks relevant to FinTech (e.g., Go, Java, Python, Kotlin/Swift for mobile).
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles (e.g., ISO 27001, penetration testing, threat modeling).




Soft Skills
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, fluent in both English and Bahasa Indonesia (preferred).
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and an execution-oriented mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines, and competing priorities under pressure.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing both technical teams and business executives.
