Job description

We are seeking a forward-thinking Head of Business Controlling to lead the Performance strategy and management across our evolving retail operations. This is a critical leadership role that goes beyond traditional financial, BI and analytics oversight—it's about shaping the future of how we operate, measure success, and drive sustainable growth at scale.

As a strategic Business Performance partner to senior leadership, you will own the strategic planning, performance analytics, and business transformation agenda for Store Operations. You’ll be instrumental in aligning operational execution with long-term value creation, unlocking efficiencies, and translating data into actionable insights that accelerate decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead Financial Strategy & Planning: Shape and drive the financial planning and budgeting process for Store Operations, ensuring alignment with broader corporate objectives and market dynamics.
  2. Performance Optimization & Insights: Deliver robust financial analysis and reporting that identifies key trends, opportunities, and risk areas—empowering stakeholders with the insights they need to act with clarity and confidence.
  3. Operational & Commercial Analysis: Serve as a thought partner to operational leaders, applying Retail and commercial acumen to influence business decisions and drive store profitability.
  4. KPI Development & Monitoring: Define, refine, and track key performance indicators that measure store performance, operational efficiency, and strategic impact.
  5. Business Transformation & Process Innovation: Spearhead initiatives that challenge the status quo—streamlining financial processes, improving forecasting accuracy, and embedding agility into our business control framework.
  6. Leadership & Capability Building: Build and mentor a high-performing team of Business Controllers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, strategic thinking, and analytical excellence.

Qualifications

  1. Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Business from a leading institution; Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CMA, CFA) are strong advantages.
  2. Retail or Multi-Site Experience: Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and business control within large-scale or complex retail environments—preferably with exposure to store operations or omnichannel models.
  3. Strategic & Analytical Mindset: Deep expertise in commercial analysis, performance management, and business partnering. Ability to challenge assumptions, model scenarios, and influence strategic outcomes.
  4. Technology Fluency: Proficiency in financial systems, BI platforms, and data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Tableau). Experience in driving automation or digital transformation is a plus.
  5. Leadership & Influence: Strong track record of managing teams, leading cross-functional projects, and engaging senior stakeholders with credibility and confidence.
  6. Change Agent Mentality: Passion for continuous improvement, transformation, and enabling smarter, faster decisions through financial and operational excellence.
