Overview

Pesona Lounge Ubud is a vibrant restaurant and lounge offering South Asian and fusion cuisine alongside cocktails, shisha, mocktails, and house infusions. We are looking for a passionate Head of Bar / Bar Manager to lead our small but creative bar team. This is a managerial (PIC) role that works closely with other PICs (Chef, Floor Supervisor, Hospitality Manager) to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

About the Role:

This role goes beyond mixing drinks: it’s about creating memorable moments. We want someone who is:

  • Passionate not only about alcohol but also about ingredients, presentation, and storytelling.
  • Interested in growing within hospitality whether you’ve been a Bar Captain, Senior Bartender, or are ready to take the next step.
  • Comfortable engaging with guests, sharing knowledge, and representing the brand with confidence.
  • Collaborative, working hand-in-hand with the floor supervisor and hospitality team to design unique guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guest Experience & Storytelling
    • Present drinks and shisha with explaining ingredients, origins, and the story behind them.
    • Collaborate with the hospitality manager on guest events, tastings, and special activations.
    • Engage guests directly, ensuring every interaction feels warm and personal.
  • Bar Operations
    • Oversee day-to-day bar service including cocktails, mocktails, shisha, and infusions.
    • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards at all times.
    • Manage inventory, stock ordering, and ensure bar is always fully prepared.
    • Ensure recipes and presentation standards are consistently followed.
    • Train and mentor bar staff to deliver excellent service and product knowledge.
    • Prepare staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage during peak times.
    • Work closely with other PICs to create a cohesive, supportive leadership team.
  • Creativity & Sourcing
    • Work with local producers and suppliers to highlight Bali’s rich ingredients.
    • Experiment with new infusions, garnishes, and presentations in line with our menu vision.
    • Support innovation while respecting the existing menu.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience as a Bar Captain, Senior Bartender, or Bar Supervisor.
  • Strong knowledge of cocktails, mocktails, shisha, and ingredients.
  • A natural communicator who enjoys interacting with guests and telling the story behind the drink.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills (cleanliness, scheduling, prep).
  • Team player who thrives in collaboration with chefs, floor supervisors, and managers.
  • Open to learning, growing, and contributing ideas to evolve the bar program.
