The Head Chef is responsible for overseeing the daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, cleanliness, and team performance. This role includes menu creation, kitchen management, staff training, and maintaining food cost efficiency while delivering exceptional dining experiences that reflect the Milk & Madu brand.
Key Responsibilities:Lead and supervise all kitchen activities, including food preparation, production, and presentation.
Develop creative, high-quality menus in line with Milk & Madu’s concept and customer expectations.
Manage inventory, food costs, and procurement efficiently and effectively.
Ensure food safety, kitchen hygiene, and cleanliness are maintained at the highest standards.
Train, mentor, and develop the kitchen team to work efficiently and collaboratively.
Work closely with management for menu development, special events, and promotions.
Evaluate kitchen staff performance regularly and provide constructive feedback.
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership position, preferably in premium or casual dining restaurants.
Strong knowledge of Western and fusion cuisine techniques.
Proven leadership skills and the ability to build and manage a high-performing kitchen team.
High attention to detail and passion for quality and presentation.
Able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene practices (certification is a plus).
Excellent communication and time management skills.
Experience in handling and managing COGS
