Job Summary
The Hatching Egg Operator at PS Purwodadi 1 is responsible for the efficient and careful handling, sorting, and storage of hatching eggs, ensuring optimal conditions for their viability and the subsequent successful hatching of chicks. This role is critical to maintaining the quality and productivity of the hatchery operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and carefully inspect incoming hatching eggs for quality, damage, and adherence to specified standards.
- Sort and grade hatching eggs based on size, weight, and shell quality, ensuring proper segregation for different incubation processes.
- Operate and maintain egg handling equipment, including egg setters, hatchers, and other relevant machinery, ensuring their proper functioning and cleanliness.
- Monitor and control environmental conditions within the egg storage and incubation areas, including temperature, humidity, and ventilation, to optimize egg viability.
- Conduct regular checks for any abnormalities or issues with the eggs or equipment and report them promptly to supervisors.
- Maintain accurate records of egg inventory, movements, and any observations related to egg quality or equipment performance.
- Adhere to strict biosecurity protocols and hygiene standards to prevent the spread of diseases and maintain a healthy hatchery environment.
- Assist with the cleaning and sanitization of egg trays, trolleys, and other equipment used in the hatching process.
- Participate in training programs to enhance knowledge and skills related to egg handling, incubation, and hatchery operations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
- Prior experience in poultry farming, hatchery operations, or a related agricultural field is preferred.
- Basic understanding of biosecurity principles and hygiene practices.
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work diligently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting and moving eggs.
- Attention to detail and a keen eye for identifying egg quality issues.
- Basic communication skills to report observations and interact with team members.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by hatchery operations.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
