Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in poultry farming, hatchery operations, or a related agricultural field is preferred.
• Basic understanding of biosecurity principles and hygiene practices.
• Ability to follow instructions carefully and work diligently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting and moving eggs.
• Attention to detail and a keen eye for identifying egg quality issues.
• Basic communication skills to report observations and interact with team members.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by hatchery operations.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and carefully inspect incoming hatching eggs for quality, damage, and adherence to specified standards.
• Sort and grade hatching eggs based on size, weight, and shell quality, ensuring proper segregation for different incubation processes.
• Operate and maintain egg handling equipment, including egg setters, hatchers, and other relevant machinery, ensuring their proper functioning and cleanliness.
• Monitor and control environmental conditions within the egg storage and incubation areas, including temperature, humidity, and ventilation, to optimize egg viability.
• Conduct regular checks for any abnormalities or issues with the eggs or equipment and report them promptly to supervisors.
• Maintain accurate records of egg inventory, movements, and any observations related to egg quality or equipment performance.
• Adhere to strict biosecurity protocols and hygiene standards to prevent the spread of diseases and maintain a healthy hatchery environment.
• Assist with the cleaning and sanitization of egg trays, trolleys, and other equipment used in the hatching process.
• Participate in training programs to enhance knowledge and skills related to egg handling, incubation, and hatchery operations.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
