COSCO seeks a Technical Expert Underground Geotechnical Engineer to provide operational geotechnical support for PTFI’s mines, focusing on ground support design, ground control, and monitoring system development for Grasberg operations.

The role emphasizes rock mass analysis, cave performance evaluation, and applying international best practices while mentoring national staff and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining, Civil or Geological Engineering with 10+ years in underground geotechnical engineering.
• Demonstrated expertise in geotechnical engineering and ground control for underground mining.
• Ability to communicate complex issues and work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational geotechnical support across operating and developing mines.
• Design ground support and manage ground control in an active mine environment.
• Assist in evaluating cave performance and production forecasts; design and commission monitoring systems.
