Job summary

PT. ASTRO seeks a GIS Analyst to collect, clean, and analyze spatial data, and build map-based dashboards for clients. The role involves integrating spatial layers with BI tools and collaborating with data engineers and BI developers to reveal location-driven patterns.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in a geospatial field and 2–4 years of GIS experience, with strong communication in English and Bahasa Indonesia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geodesy and Geomatics, Geospatial Information, Urban Planning, or related field.
• 2-4 years of GIS or geospatial data analysis experience.
• Strong proficiency in QGIS or ArcGIS.
• Experience with spatial SQL (PostGIS) and Python (GeoPandas, Shapely) or R.
• Good understanding of coordinate systems, map projections, and spatial data formats (Shapefile, GeoJSON, GeoTIFF).
• Experience building dashboards with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, or Looker Studio).
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and process spatial datasets from multiple sources (satellite imagery, GPS data, census data, and client databases).
• Perform spatial analysis such as catchment area, hotspot, clustering, and proximity analysis.
• Build interactive map-based dashboards and visualizations for clients.
• Combine geospatial data with business data (sales, customer, and operational data) to find location-driven trends.
• Maintain and update geospatial databases and ensure data accuracy.
• Prepare analysis reports and present findings to clients and internal teams.
• Work with data engineers and BI developers to integrate spatial layers into existing dashboards.
• Document methodologies, data sources, and map projections used in each project.
