Description
We are seeking a General Manager – Renewable Energy (Biomass, Methane & Hydrogen) Business Unit to lead the development and scale-up of the group’s biomass-to-hydrogen operations. This strategic leadership role encompasses business expansion, technology implementation, and regulatory compliance, with a core focus on innovation, sustainability, and building profitable renewable energy ventures.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and execute long-term strategies to expand the biomass-to-hydrogen energy business.
2. Lead engineering, operations, and sustainability across hydrogen production via gasification, pyrolysis, and electrolysis.
3. Drive large-scale project development, including capital planning, permitting, and stakeholder engagement.
4. Identify and develop new business opportunities within the hydrogen value chain.
5. Lead partnership development with government entities, investors, and renewable energy players.
6. Optimize operations for cost-efficiency, scalability, and compliance with international and local energy policies.
7. Oversee marketing and commercialization strategies for hydrogen as a clean fuel alternative.
8. Ensure full regulatory compliance and environmental stewardship throughout project lifecycles.
9. Promote a culture of innovation, circular economy, and climate resilience within all operational teams.
10. Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, profitability analysis, and investment return metrics.

Profile
To succeed in this role, you will need:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Business Management; Master’s degree/MBA preferred.
2. 8+ years of experience in renewable energy, waste-to-energy, hydrogen, or biomass projects, with 3+ years in a senior leadership role.
3. Proven technical expertise in biomass-to-hydrogen conversion technologies and energy production systems.
4. Strong track record in managing large-scale energy projects, including investment planning, execution, and compliance.
5. In-depth knowledge of green and blue hydrogen production, infrastructure development, and emerging hydrogen markets.
6. Strong experience in energy policy, permitting processes, and environmental impact assessments.
7. Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and strategic partnership skills.
8. Financial acumen in budgeting, capital investment planning, and operational performance management.
9. A solid network within the energy industry, government agencies, and sustainability organizations.
10. Willingness to travel and thrive in dynamic, fast-paced, and high-impact environments.
