A leading company in Indonesia is seeking a General Manager to integrate HR and Operations into the business strategy. You will oversee budgets, monitor performance metrics, and ensure compliance with labor laws while fostering a positive workplace culture. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in HR and operational management, with a focus on strategic planning and process optimization.
These tasks integrate both HR and Operations into the overall business strategy.
Strategic Planning: Formulate and execute both short-term and long-term strategies for HR and Operations that directly support company growth and profitability goals.
Budget & Financial Oversight: Develop, manage, and monitor departmental budgets (HR, Operations, and often General & Administrative) to ensure cost-effectiveness and optimize resource allocation.
Performance Monitoring: Define, track, and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for operational efficiency cycle time and human capital (turnover, engagement, time-to-hire).
Inter-Departmental Coordination: Act as the primary liaison and decision-maker between departments to ensure smooth cross-functional workflows and communication.
The GM is the top executive responsible for people and culture.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure the organization is in full compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws (e.g., wage and hour, discrimination, health and safety). Develop and update the employee handbook and company policies.
Talent Management: Oversee the entire employee lifecycle, from strategic workforce planning and high-volume recruitment to succession planning for leadership roles.
Compensation and Benefits: Design, evaluate, and administer competitive and equitable compensation structures and benefits programs (e.g., payroll, health insurance, retirement plans) to attract and retain talent.
Employee Relations and Culture: Mediate complex employee grievances and conflicts, conduct investigations, and actively drive initiatives to build a positive, productive, and inclusive workplace culture.
Learning and Development (L&D): Identify skill gaps and oversee the creation and implementation of training programs and performance development plans for all staff, especially management.
These tasks ensure the day-to-day business engine runs efficiently.
Process Optimization: Analyze current business processes and workflows to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, then design and implement continuous improvement plans to maximize operational output.
System and Infrastructure Management: Oversee the maintenance and optimal use of core business systems and infrastructure, including the office facilities, and administrative support functions.
Quality and Standards: Establish and enforce quality control standards, operational procedures (SOPs), and service levels across all operational functions.
Vendor and Contract Management: Negotiate and manage relationships and contracts with external service providers, suppliers, and consultants critical to both HR (e.g., benefits brokers) and Operations (e.g., facility maintenance).
Safety and Environment: Ensure all operational environments (offices, warehouses, facilities) adhere to safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
