About the Hotel:
Our hotel in the heart of Berastagi offers a refreshing highland escape just outside of Medan. Surrounded by scenic mountain views and cool air, the property combines warm local hospitality with modern comforts. The hotel features well-appointed guest rooms, a full-service restaurant, multiple meeting halls, and a beautiful ballroom for events and celebrations. We are currently seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our team and oversee all aspects of operations, from guest services to events.
Job Summary:
The General Manager will be responsible for the overall success of the hotel, with a hands-on role in day-to-day operations, team management, and guest satisfaction. This includes leading the restaurant team and overseeing events in our meeting halls and ballroom. You’ll work closely with the owner to drive performance, maintain high service standards, and grow the hotel’s reputation as a premier destination in Berastagi.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily hotel operations across front office, housekeeping, F&B, maintenance, and event services
Ensure smooth operation of the restaurant, including service quality, staffing, and menu coordination with the kitchen team
Manage and coordinate events in the hotel’s meeting halls and ballroom, from weddings to corporate functions
Maintain excellent guest satisfaction and respond to feedback professionally and promptly
Lead and motivate staff, creating a culture of accountability, warmth, and hospitality
Monitor budgets, control costs, and work toward revenue growth targets
Execute marketing strategies to promote the hotel’s services and event spaces
Ensure all departments meet cleanliness, safety, and service quality standards
Report directly to the owner with regular updates and strategic insights
Qualifications:
6+ years of experience as a Hotel General Manager or in a senior hotel operations role
Proven leadership and team development skills
Strong knowledge of restaurant and banquet operations
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and cost controls
Proficient in hotel systems (PMS, POS) and Microsoft Office
Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia; English proficiency is an advantage
Experience in North Sumatra or the hospitality industry in similar regional markets is a plus
