Job description

The Furniture Packaging Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and implementation of all packaging solutions for our products. This role requires a perfect blend of creativity, technical expertise, and project management to ensure our packaging is cost-effective, sustainable, and meets rigorous quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop innovative and functional packaging concepts from initial sketches to final production.
  • Select, test, and qualify packaging materials such as corrugated cartons, plastics, films, and labels to ensure product integrity.
  • Create and maintain detailed packaging specifications, assembly instructions, and technical drawings.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D, Production, Quality Assurance, and Procurement teams to ensure packaging designs are optimized for manufacturing and supply chain efficiency.
  • Lead cost-reduction and sustainability initiatives by improving existing packaging designs and exploring new materials.
  • Conduct performance testing (e.g., drop tests, vibration tests) to ensure packaging meets internal and international standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any packaging-related issues on the production line.
  • Communicate effectively with international suppliers and clients regarding packaging requirements.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Must be an Indonesian Citizen (WNI).
  • Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken. All communications in this role will require a high level of English proficiency.
  • Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Packaging Science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a Packaging Engineer, preferably in a furniture manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in 2D/3D CAD software.
  • Strong knowledge of various packaging materials and manufacturing processes.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with packaging test standards (e.g., ISTA, ASTM).
  • Experience in project management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
