Furniture Merchandiser Japanese Speaker

About the role

This is a full-time role as a Furniture Merchandiser for our client, a leading retail company based in South Jakarta, Jakarta. As the Furniture Merchandiser Japanese Speaker, you will be responsible for overseeing the display and presentation of furniture products in our stores, ensuring an engaging and visually appealing shopping experience for our customers.

What you'll be doing

This is a Leader position to provide guidance on product development, production management, and quality control from development to shipment in cooperation with contract and new factories in Indonesia as well as the head office in Japan regarding furniture (wooden furniture, sofas, storage items).

*The main duties are as follows:

1. Product Development
   
   1. Appropriate factory selection based on plans and design
   2. Cooperate and negotiate with the target factory to achieve the desired specifications and quality.
   3. System registration work related to product development, arranging quality tests, and creating auxiliary materials
   4. Report and work together with the head office Indonesia regarding the above matters
2. Delivery date management
   
   1. Planning the schedule from product development - mass production - shipping - to starting sales
   2. Confirmation of production capacity and production lead time before mass production
   3. On-site inspection of production progress
   4. Delivery date management and on-site inspection shipment
   5. Report and work together with the head office Indonesia regarding the above matters
3. Quality Control
   
   1. Planning measures to predict and prevent quality problems at the product development stage
   2. Quality check of mass-produced products
   3. Guidance on management and inspection methods at factories
   4. Checking the production environment at factories and providing guidance for improvements
   5. Investigating the cause of quality defects and taking corrective measures
   6. Report and work together with the head office Indonesia regarding the above matters
4. Cost Management
   
   1. Proposing specifications to achieve target costs at the product planning stage
   2. Proposal for cost reduction other than product specifications such as packaging specifications
   3. Cost reduction through process improvement and efficiency planning
5. Sourcing and regional development of environmentally friendly materials
   
   1. Sourcing environmentally friendly materials (natural fibers, recycled materials, etc.) available in Indonesia
   2. Proposing products necessary for daily life in Indonesia
   3. Providing ideas that could become the next flagship product based on hints gained from life in Indonesia

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree graduates

Fluently speaking both Japanese and English.

Holds JLPT certification JLPT N2/JLPT N3

Experience and knowledge in product development, production management, and quality control for furniture

Experienced for about 5-10 years in Furniture.

People who can keep time and deadlines; and can say if they can't do something; and admit their own mistakes

Who can handle a wide range of duties, not just their own specialty.

Ability to communicate well with related parties, including foreigners

Must have a strong will to carry out work and be able to take on leadership roles centered on team play

People who can work for a long period of time (people who can contribute to the company for as long as possible)

Ability to respond flexibly, proactively, and appropriately to urgent or unexpected situations, or tasks that you have no experience with.

Ability to perform basic PC operations (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, Internet) without problems

Required Business Trips

Regular visits to factories in Indonesia / Possibility of business trips to neighboring South Asian countries such as Bangladesh in the future

Factory visits are scheduled every Tuesday through Thursday.

What we offer
Salary is Negotiable depending on skills (Monthly salary: Merchandiser IDR 10,000,000 to 15,000,000; Senior Merchandiser IDR15,000,000 to 20,000,000)
