Job Description

Our Client currently seeking a Fullstack Developer with a strong background in AI and language systems to build a custom language translator application. This project focuses on developing a machine learning-based system capable of transcribing and translating Brunei Malay to English, leveraging existing language datasets provided by the client.

You will be responsible for designing and developing an AI-powered translation system that can be used across various formats, and is capable of being integrated into existing systems or websites.

Key Responsibilities

• Build a machine learning AI model that can learn and translate any language provided with the relevant dataset (initially focused on Brunei Malay to English).
• Develop a system that can be embedded into existing systems/websites to provide full-system language translation functionality.
• Create a robust and user-friendly web or app-based application that includes:
• Text-to-text translation
• Phrase-level translation with native language context
• Batch document translation
• OCR (Optical Character Recognition) for scanned documents
• Voice recognition for speech-to-text translation
• Ensure scalability, modularity, and flexibility of the system for future language expansions.
• Collaborate with AI/data teams to refine the language model and improve translation accuracy.
• Maintain code quality and documentation for handover or team scaling.
  
  

Requirements

Technical Skills:

• Strong programming background with experience in fullstack development.
• Proficient in at least one of the following:
• Python (preferred, especially for AI/ML tasks
• React.js (for frontend)
• Laravel (for backend PHP framework) or Node.js (for backend JavaScript framework)
• Familiarity with machine learning and NLP (Natural Language Processing) tools and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, HuggingFace, spaCy).
• Experience with OCR libraries and voice/speech recognition APIs (Google Speech-to-Text, Whisper, etc.).
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Ability to develop modular systems that can be integrated into third-party environments.
