Job summary

Pensieve in Indonesia is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to deliver and improve client-facing deployments across complex environments, from on-prem to offline-first systems. This role covers mid and senior levels based on depth, autonomy, and ownership.

You will work with client stakeholders to understand requirements, ship software to real users, and contribute to deployment patterns and runbooks. Proficiency in TypeScript, Python, or Go, SQL, Linux, containers, and networking is required,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience in backend, data, or full-stack.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, Python, or Go.
• Experience with SQL, data pipelines, Linux, containers, and networking.
• Experience shipping software to real users and working with non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluent English and Bahasa Indonesia.

Responsibilities

Deliver client deployments across integration, build, go-live, and post-deployment support.

Requirements

3+ years of software engineering experience across backend, data, or full-stack environments.

Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Python, or Go.

Experience with SQL, data pipelines, Linux, containers, and networking.

Experience shipping software to real users and working with non-technical stakeholders.

Comfortable working independently in ambiguous environments.

Fluent English and strong Bahasa Indonesia.

Willing to travel and work in security-sensitive environments.

Nice to have :

Experience with LLMs, RAG, embeddings, or AI/ML systems.

Kubernetes, Terraform, GCP, or similar infrastructure tooling.

Public sector, critical infrastructure, geospatial, or offline-first experience.
