Oliver James Consulting is hiring on behalf of a leading life insurer in Asia, seeking a talented Finance Specialist to support a major finance transformation initiative in Indonesia. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful change in one of the region's most respected insurance organisations.

As a Finance Specialist, you'll be part of a regional initiative focused on optimising the financial close process and strengthening internal reporting standards. Working cross-functionally with finance, actuarial, and technology teams, you'll play a key role in driving efficiencies, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting best-in-class financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver finance workstream activities in collaboration with regional and business unit teams.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, tax schedules, and client reports.
  • Support process improvements, documentation updates, and training for local teams.
  • Ensure alignment with accounting, actuarial, and regulatory standards (IFRS/local GAAP).
  • Provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders through analysis and data interpretation.
  • Collaborate with internal audit and compliance to ensure robust internal controls.

What You'll Bring:

  • 6-8 years of relevant insurance industry experience in finance, accounting, or audit.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CA, or actuarial certification is highly regarded.
  • Experience in financial close, reporting cycles, and regulatory compliance within insurance.
  • Proficiency in systems such as SAP, Hyperion, or Moody's; IFRS 17/4 experience is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Knowledge of project management or continuous improvement frameworks is advantageous.
