Job summary
Baker Hughes is seeking a Field Specialist (Team Leader - Scheduling & Competency) to lead wireline operations across open hole and cased hole wells. You’ll manage tool strings, logging, perforation, and data quality while ensuring strict safety standards and client communication.
Ideal candidates hold a STEM degree with wireline experience, familiarity with radiation/explosives, and strong teamwork. The role requires readiness for challenging conditions and high-pressure environments.

- Familiar with Radiation, Explosive, Winch Control.
- Competent on operation Pressure Control Equipment.

Responsibilities
- Operations & Technical Execution.
- Logging Operations: Running sensors into the wellbore to measure rock properties.
- Tool Assembly & Testing: Assembling tool strings and performing pre-run checks.
- Perforation & Mechanical Services: Executing explosive operations and setting plugs/packers.
- Data Acquisition: Monitoring real-time data and troubleshooting signal issues.
- Equipment Maintenance & Quality Control.
- Preventative Maintenance: Upkeep of wireline winch unit, pressure control equipment, and inventory of tools.
- Calibration: Ensuring measurement tools are calibrated to global standards.
- System Troubleshooting: Diagnosing electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic failures in the field.
- Safety & Compliance (HSE).
- Pressure Control: Managing Well Intervention safety with compliant equipment.
- Radiation & Explosives Safety: Handling hazardous materials safely.
- Risk Assessment: Leading Tailgate safety meetings and SOP adherence.
- Leadership & Client Relations: Supervising crew and communicating with the client.
- Crew Management: Managing operators and technicians.
- On-site Representative: Point of contact for client discussions.
- Reporting: Compiling well logs, data files, and post-job reports.
- Logistics & Prep: Reviewing schematics and planning gear accordingly.
- Job Planning: Anticipating downhole challenges.
- Inventory Management: Ensuring backup components are loaded.

- Operations & Technical Execution
- Logging Operations: Running sophisticated sensors (logging tools) into the wellbore on an armored electrical cable (the wireline) to measure rock properties like porosity, resistivity, and gamma radiation.
- Tool Assembly & Testing: Assembling complex "tool strings" and performing pre-run surface checks to ensure sensors are calibrated and functioning within narrow tolerances.
- Perforation & Mechanical Services: Executing explosive operations to puncture the well casing or setting mechanical plugs/packers to isolate specific zones of the well.
- Data Acquisition: Monitoring real-time data feeds during the "up-log" to ensure data quality and troubleshooting any signal interference or tool failures immediately.
- Equipment Maintenance & Quality Control
- Preventative Maintenance: Overseeing the upkeep of the wireline winch unit, pressure control equipment, and the massive inventory of electronic logging tools.
- Calibration: Ensuring all measurement tools are calibrated against global standards to provide the client with legally and technically defensible data.
- System Troubleshooting: Diagnosing electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic failures in the field, often under extreme weather or time pressure.
- Safety & Compliance (HSE)
- Pressure Control: Managing "Well Intervention" safety, ensuring that pressure control equipment (lubricators, BOPs) is rated for the well's specific pressure to prevent blowouts.
- Radiation & Explosives Safety: Acting as the Custodian for hazardous materials. This involves the safe handling, transport, and storage of radioactive sources and shaped-charge explosives.
- Risk Assessment: Leading "Tailgate" safety meetings and ensuring all crew members are following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Leadership & Client Relations
- Crew Management: Supervising a team of operators and technicians, ensuring they are performing tasks efficiently and safely.
- On-site Representative: Serving as the primary point of contact for the "Company Man" (the client’s representative) to discuss job progress, data results, and operational risks.
- Reporting: Compiling final well logs, digital data files, and post-job reports that summarize the technical success of the operation.
- Logistics & Prep
- Job Planning: Reviewing well schematics and history to select the correct equipment and anticipate potential downhole challenges like "sticking" or high temperatures.
- Inventory Management: Ensuring all necessary backup components, seals, and consumables are loaded onto the truck before leaving the district base.
- Bachelor's degree in STEM from an accredited university is preferred or equivalent knowledge & experience
- Working experience in Wireline Operation
- Familiar with Radiation, Explosive, Winch Control
- Competent on operation Pressure Control Equipment
- Have good communication and team work skill
- Ready to work on challenging environment
- Able to work under pressure
