Job description

Job Title: Field Community Relations & Development Officer

Job type: Fixed Term Contract (TPC Position)

Job Location: South Sumatra, Indonesia

Experience level: 2+ years' Experience as Field Community Relations & Development Officer preferable in South Sumatra area.

The Field Community Relations & Development Officer is responsible on engaging with local communities, including village heads and the Camat (Head of Subdistrict), to foster strong relationships and ensure effective communication. This position will also assist in the implementation of community development programs in the field, ensuring that initiatives align with community needs and project objectives.

Job Descriptions:

  1. Develop and maintain positive relationships with local communities affected by the Sakakemang Development Project.
  2. Build and maintain strong relationships with local community leaders, including but not limited to village heads and community representatives.
  3. Facilitate dialogue between project stakeholders and community members to ensure mutual trust.
  4. Address and resolve community issues and concerns raised by stakeholders and the EPC contractor (grievance mechanism).
  5. Support socialization programs to enhance understanding and acceptance of the project within the community.
  6. Assist in the execution of community development programs that address the needs of the local population.
  7. Support to monitor and evaluate the impact of community programs, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
  8. Support the communication of community needs and priorities to the SRD Team
  9. Prepare regular reports on community engagement activities, program implementation, and stakeholder feedback.
  10. Maintain organized records of community interactions, program outcomes, and recommendations for future initiatives.
  11. Work closely with the SRD Team in Jakarta to ensure alignment of stakeholder engagement efforts and project goals.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in community relations, community development, or a similar role, preferably in the energy, mining or construction sector and in South Sumatera and Jambi area.
  2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for community engagement and development.
  3. Effective problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing community issues.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Adaptability to changing environments and stakeholder needs.
