Job description

We are a highly regarded exporter of intimate apparel, serving markets in the USA, Europe, Australia, and Asia.

We are seeking a Fashion Designer to join our research and development team in Jakarta. The role involves creating designs based on provided concepts, including sketching, technical drawing, material selection, fitting, and final sampling. You should be skilled in trend forecasting and capable of incorporating future trends into your designs. Working collaboratively with a team, you will develop innovative products aligned with seasonal trends. We’re looking for someone eager to learn, adaptable, and committed to meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with the team to generate ideas for new themed collections.
2. Create concept designs, including sketches, technical drawings, bills of materials, and final products.
3. Present design concepts to the team and gather feedback.
4. Work closely with the technical designer to ensure the final garments meet required specifications.
5. Learn and understand product costing to support design and development.
6. Ensure designs align with buyer requirements and current market trends.
7. Understand and select appropriate fabrics and trims for each design.

Requirements and Skills

1. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop.
2. Strong design and conceptualisation skills.
3. Willingness to learn and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
4. Excellent teamwork and collaboration abilities.
5. Involves working with numbers for cost estimation and analysis.
6. Previous experience as a Fashion Designer or in a similar role is an advantage.
7. A bachelor’s degree in design is preferred.
8. Knowledge of pattern drafting is a plus.
