Job summary

A leading company seeks a Data Center Facilities Manager to oversee operations at assigned facilities. This role involves collaboration with service providers, conducting routine inspections, managing maintenance schedules, and responding to critical incidents. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in data center management, a solid understanding of infrastructure systems, and excellent analytical skills.

Job description

Oversee and manage the assigned data centers' facility operations.

Conduct regular physical and visual inspections of equipment and data center facilities.

Collaborate with DCE to create procedures and risk analyses for site operations.

Liaise with Data Center Providers for all mechanical and electrical maintenance servicing affecting Data Halls.

Compile and review all Data Centers' Maintenance Schedules, ensuring minimal interference during Block Days.

Review documents submitted by Data Center Providers, such as MOP and RA, for maintenance activities.

Track and document facility maintenance activities and change requests.

Initiate and manage Change Management requests for all maintenance activities.

Provide onsite support during scheduled maintenance and change events.

Generate regular reports on progress related to moves, changes, support requests, and develop continuous improvement initiatives.

Respond to facilities-level crisis management activities, including power outages, HVAC failures, fire alarms, and security concerns.

Provide after-hours support based on the on-call schedule when required.

Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in data center facilities management and operations.
  • Good understanding of data center infrastructure, including electrical and mechanical systems, HVAC, power outages, fire alarms, etc.
  • Ability to respond promptly to issues, provide progress updates, and escalate when necessary.
  • Experience working in large-scale critical environments is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills with a sense of urgency.
  • An agile mindset, positive attitude, and creative thinking are preferred.
Advantageous Skills & Knowledge
  • Experience with rack, space, power, and cooling allocations for new installations or relocations.
  • Exposure to Data Center Operations or Critical Environments.
  • Understanding of DC Space, Power, and Cooling Management.
