Job summary

APP Group in Indonesia is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to lead end-to-end AI initiatives, driving Generative AI projects with PyTorch/TensorFlow and related tools. You will translate complex analytics into clear, strategic recommendations for senior leaders.

You will manage cross-functional stakeholders, uphold SDLC and Agile practices, and coordinate with vendors and headquarters on high-impact AI initiatives while maintaining ethical AI adoption.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in quantitative fields.
• At least 3+ years in Data Science, AI, ML, or similar roles.
• Hands-on Python or R and SQL proficiency.
• Experience with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow.
• Generative AI/LLM projects experience (prompt engineering, APIs, RAG, vector DBs).
• Strong SDLC and Agile knowledge.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive Generative AI / LLM-based solutions and related architectures.
• Evaluate methodologies, models and algorithms from external vendors.
• Translate analytical insights into actionable business recommendations for senior leadership.
• Establish best practices for AI modeling, testing, deployment, governance and ethics.
• Manage cross-functional stakeholders and project timelines for high impact outcomes.
• Serve as liaison between vendors, internal stakeholders and HQ on AI initiatives.

What is Required?

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or other quantitative fields.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or highly quantitative roles.
• Strong hands-on experience in Python or R and SQL.
• Experience with modern AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch and/or TensorFlow.
• Practical exposure to Generative AI / LLM projects, including: Prompt Engineering, LLM APIs, RAG Architecture, and Vector Databases (Pinecone, Milvus, etc.).
• Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to work independently, manage changing priorities, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
