Job description

Our valuable client, a Multinational Retail company, is currently looking for someone to fill in the position as Business Expansion Manager to be placed in Jakarta's office.

Role and responsibilities:

  1. Planning, identifying, surveying, evaluating, and proposing potential areas for expansion.
  2. Analyze the business reports regularly, understand the challenges of the business with regards to company’s direction, and prescribe countermeasures and propose improvement points to management.
  3. Negotiate rental and tenancy terms for the company.
  4. Attend store opening activities, mall-related corporate events, activities, and appointments.
  5. Analyze and advise legal risk in the lease/tenancy agreement and prescribe countermeasures.
  6. Build mature relationships with landlords, developers, landowners, investors, bankers, and negotiate equally as a key representative of the company.
  7. Liaise with internal and external parties to ensure store opening as per schedule.
  8. Handle all relevant issues to ensure the success of store opening.
  9. Lead the Business Expansion team to achieve the KPI/expected store expansion number set.
  10. Ensure all internal and external SOP and policies are observed.
  11. Build strong relationships with the local council and custom officers if necessary and understand the government rules and regulations to ensure the company always complies.

Requirements:

  1. Candidates must possess at least a Degree in retail/property management, real estate, or business equivalent field.
  2. At least 5 years of working experience within the retail management space. Key exposure should include retail leasing, strategic expansion, store development (scrap and build, renovation, etc.).
  3. A wide range of networks with developers, landlords, retail property owners, local council, and custom officers.
  4. Must be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  5. Systematic, well-organized, and independent.
  6. Good understanding of laws, rules, and regulations related to retail, especially in the fashion industry.
  7. Ability to travel within the country and overseas if required.
  8. Must be able to communicate effectively in English and Indonesian; proficiency in Mandarin will be an added advantage.
