Job summary

Alam Sutera Realty is looking for a skilled Head Chef for their location in Garuda Wisnu Kencana, Bali. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring food preparation quality, constructing menus, and ensuring cost-efficient kitchen operations.

A minimum of 3 years as a head chef in a five-star environment, along with a degree in hospitality with a culinary arts major, is essential. Strong leadership and creativity in the kitchen are key to success in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a head chef in a five-star hotel or reputable restaurant group.
• Experience working as a chef abroad is preferred.
• Expert knowledge of food costing.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure regular quality of food preparation and service (including food appearance, taste, cleanliness, and sanitation of production, service areas, and equipment).
• Supervise and participate in the production and plating of all food in service areas to maintain the best possible food quality.
• Ensure that all dishes are cooked properly and presented in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
• Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations, ensuring variety and quality of the servings.
• Plan menus and set prices, making adjustments as needed based on the availability of ingredients.
• Perform administrative tasks, including taking stock of food and equipment supplies, and handling purchase orders.
• Direct monthly inventory and ensure cost‑efficient operations.
• Maintain kitchen equipment; schedule repairs and additional maintenance as needed.
• Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformity with established standards.
• Obtain feedback on food and service quality, and handle customer problems and complaints.

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in hospitality, preferably majoring in culinary arts.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a head chef in a five‑star hotel or large reputable restaurant group.
• Experience working as a chef abroad is preferred.
• Expert knowledge of COGS reports and food costing.
• Strong capabilities in planning, organizing, problem‑solving, staff management, and time management.
• Able to develop and implement effective and efficient kitchen standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Passionate about cooking and the culinary business.
• Creative with strong attention to detail.
