• Lead cross-departmental environmental initiatives.

PT Merdeka Battery Materials Tbk is a holding company engaged in nickel and mineral mining, processing, and related activities within the electric vehicle battery value chain. We are seeking qualified talent for our subsidiary, PT Sulawesi Cahaya Mineral (SCM), for the following position:

Environmental Senior Engineer

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Environmental Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Forestry, Industrial Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the mining industry, particularly in the HSE division's Environmental Department.
• Certified POP.
• Experience with waste management (hazardous waste, emissions, wastewater, etc.).
• Knowledge of environmental standards & certifications (ISO 14001, PROPER, IRMA, IFC, etc.).
• Familiar with government regulations related to ESG standards.
• Proficient in English.
• Placement in Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi.

Key Roles:

• Develop and determine strategic environmental standards in compliance with government and company regulations, both short-term and long-term.
• Ensure compliance with Indonesian and international standards such as IFC and certifications like ISO & IRMA.
• Lead cross-departmental environmental improvement initiatives, especially during increased production within SCM and contractors.
• Conduct gap analysis and develop concrete steps to meet PROPER standards.
• Review environmental systems and procedures for compliance with latest regulations.
• Ensure all environmental management standards are met, risks are controlled, and performance targets are achieved.
• Maintain environmental parameters set by government and company standards, ensuring they are within quality limits.
• Establish effective manpower planning and organizational structure to support the environmental division's performance.
