We are seeking the following position:

Environment Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Manage environmental risks, developing environmental management plans, and overseeing environmental monitoring and mitigation activities during project development and operation phase.
  • Stay updated on environmental regulations, permits, and licenses relevant to mining operations.
  • Create and develop an Environmental Management System (EMS), including aspects of compliance with the regulations of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with local, regional, and national environmental laws.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive environmental management plans that outline strategies for minimizing and mitigating environmental impacts.
  • Ensuring that all of the company’s operational obligations contained in the ANDAL document, Reclamation Plan (RR) document, Post-Mining Plan document, and Budget Work Plan (RKAB) document are implemented and/or communicated with relevant parties.
  • Identify and assess potential environmental risks associated with mining activities.
  • Implement measures to prevent or minimize pollution, soil erosion, deforestation, and water contamination.
  • Design and implement environmental monitoring programs to assess the imp act of mining operations.
  • Prepare reports on environmental monitoring results, identifying trends, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Engage and communicate with community groups, local residents, and indigenous communities to address environmental concerns and build positive relationships.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to integrate environmental considerations into decision-making processes.
  • Liaise and coordinate with Environmental Consultants, external laboratories and environmental services providers.
  • Maintain a relationship and be on distribution lists with relevant government bodies; the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 year’s professional experience related to mineral or metal processing, or metal mining.
  • Minimum 2 year’s professional experience as a Manager or Superintendent.
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices in the mining industry.
  • Experience in managing environmental compliance and permitting processes.
  • Have the ability to identify and record all environmental liabilities that have the potential to disrupt the company’s operations.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess environmental risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders effectively.
  • Proficient in environmental monitoring techniques and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with sustainability principles and experience implementing sustainable practices is desirable.
  • Preferably have POM Certification.
  • Preferably having range of experience from construction to operation phase.
  • Demonstrate ability to build cohesive teams and achieve goals through teamwork.
