About the role

PT. Benara Pelita Nusantara is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Tutor to join our education team in North Malinau, North Kalimantan. This is a contract position that offers you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' English language development in a growing region. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective English language instruction to learners of varying proficiency levels, helping them build confidence and competence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. This role is essential to our mission of providing quality English education and supporting learners in achieving their academic and personal language goals.

Key responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging English language lessons tailored to students' individual learning needs and proficiency levels

Create and prepare high-quality teaching materials, resources, and lesson plans that align with curriculum objectives

What we’re looking for

Fluent English language proficiency with near-native or native-level speaking and writing ability

Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related discipline

Teaching qualification or certification such as TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA (or equivalent recognised certification)

Minimum 2 years of professional English tutoring or teaching experience in a classroom or tutoring environment

Strong knowledge of English grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and comprehension techniques

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse learners

Patience, adaptability, and a student-centred teaching approach that accommodates different learning styles

Ability to create engaging, interactive lessons using a variety of teaching methods and materials

Proficiency in classroom management and maintaining discipline whilst fostering a supportive learning atmosphere

Preferably, experience working with learners in Southeast Asian contexts or developing education markets

Willingness to work in a remote location and commitment to contributing to educational development in the region
