Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the JRL HV, LV and DC Traction Power System to ensure safety, reliability and availability that meet all regulatory requirements for MRT operation.
- Lead the PFR section, manage track traction and station electrical safety to ensure that the safety, reliability and availability of such services meet regulatory requirements for the MRT system to operate.
- Liaise with external agencies on all matters pertaining to the JRL Power Supply system and equipment.
- Meeting operational targets for availability and reliability of Power Supply.
- Ensure all equipment is operated and maintained in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and in compliance with legislative requirements.
- Procure all necessary tools, spares and services pertaining to the operation of the system.
- Develop and maintain Work Instructions and procedures.
- Ensure safe work and access for maintenance activities.
- Carry out maintenance incident/accident investigation.
- Responsible for the management of staff including participation in selection discipline and performance review processes.
- Participate in troubleshooting, testing and commissioning of equipment.
- Implement and maintain Quality Management System.
- Ensure PFR supports OCC operational requirements and targets.
- Establish, manage and upkeep work instructions, operation process and procedures for PFRs.
- Liaise with external agencies on all matters pertaining to power supply operations and regulations.
- Manage the department electrical permit office and application matters.
- Manage a team of Power Facilities Regulator (PFR) to operate Power Supply Equipment at JRL OCC.
- Establish and upkeep training and competency standards.
- Plan and develop department staff training and competency standards.
- Perform design and implement modification, enhancement and project works.
- Undertake tasks and projects as assigned by superior.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized by Professional Engineer Board, Singapore / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Preferably with relevant working experience in maintenance of HV, LV and DC traction power equipment, preferably in a rail transportation environment. Electrical Power System background.
- Strong analytical and excellent negotiation skills, organized, meticulous with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong sense of responsibility and pro‑active.
