The role is market facing within Indonesia with strong collaboration with colleagues in other Southeast Asia and APAC offices. It is focused on building Arup’s profile in the Indonesian energy sector, identifying opportunities, winning and delivering work to provide a strong foundation for a self-sustaining Energy team based in Jakarta. It will involve strategy development to select and prioritise target markets and clients, and collaboration with energy colleagues across APAC to win and deliver projects at the high standards that Arup’s clients expect

The Opportunity

This role is for a strategic business and technical leader to enable the Australasian Energy Business to undertake Energy advisory and techno-economic studies in Indonesia and develop collaborative relationship with utilities companies, government entities, power developers both in the government and private sector.

The Key Responsibilities Include

• Identify, pursue, secure and deliver Energy projects across Indonesia
• Provide technical expertise in delivery of energy projects based on key principles of quality, innovation and integration.
• Identify and work with clients to understand their investment in the energy sector, scoping out project needs and mobilizing Arup experience, including all stakeholders
• Support SEA Energy Advisory Leader to identify talent, build capacity, develop skills and share experience.
• Develop Energy team in Indonesia, covering skills and services in technical advisory, project development and design, and owner’s engineer services
• Lead large scale projects with multiple teams and stakeholders, developing project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies, managing project risks, and mentoring junior project managers.
• Oversee and drive business development initiatives, including the identification of new opportunities and the execution of comprehensive strategies in collaboration with senior management.

• A well-developed network of client contacts in the Indonesian energy sector.
