Job summary

British American Tobacco Indonesia is seeking an SME – Electrician in Malang to maintain electrical systems, troubleshoot complex issues, and uphold BAT EHS standards in a manufacturing setting. You will read schematics, implement preventive and corrective maintenance, and drive reliability improvements.

We look for a Diploma or Bachelor in Electrical Engineering with at least 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance, proficient in PLCs, VFDs, and automation networks.

Qualifications

• Diploma (D3) or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as Electrician, Shift Electrician, or similar in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, automation, VFDs, and industrial networks.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics and technical docs.
• Proven experience troubleshooting complex electrical and automation failures independently.
• Knowledge of reliability improvement methodologies, RCA, and preventive maintenance.
• Experience with IWS or maintenance excellence programs is a plus.
• Proficient in documenting maintenance activities and reports.

Responsibilities

• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with BAT EHS requirements and electrical standards.
• Identify and eliminate electrical-related risks through hazard reporting and corrective actions.
• Perform preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Analyze recurring equipment failures to minimize downtime and improve machine performance.
• Develop and implement maintenance plans, standards, and troubleshooting procedures.
