MatchaTalent is seeking an Electrical Engineer (Data Center) to lead the design, validation, and delivery of reliable electrical infrastructure for large-scale data center projects in South Jakarta, Indonesia. You will oversee lifecycle activities from SLDs to on-site support, coordinating with clients, vendors, and engineers.

The role requires strong knowledge of HV/MV/LV, UPS, generators, and energy efficiency, with hands-on execution in mission-critical facilities and effective communication

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design, MEP, or technical project delivery.
  • Experience leading engineering activities in data center or mission-critical facilities.
  • Hands-on delivery of large-scale data center projects with complex electrical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of HV, MV, LV, UPS, generators, grounding, protection, and power monitoring.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, fire protection, and MEP coordination.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with on-site deployments and flexible hours.
  • Professional English proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive electrical system designs for large-scale data center projects, including SLDs, load calculations, power layouts, cable routing, and BOQ.
  • Design and validate HV, MV, LV, UPS systems, generators, transformers, PDU, batteries, and related electrical infra.
  • Ensure electrical solutions comply with project specs, local regulations, and international data center standards.
  • Define end-to-end electrical architectures and evaluate equipment to ensure reliability and energy efficiency.
  • Review and recommend electrical equipment and infrastructure components based on project requirements.
  • Lead technical discussions, solution reviews, and design clarifications with clients and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors to resolve issues and optimize solutions.
  • Support construction and site execution with engineering guidance and approved designs.
  • Conduct site inspections, evaluate design changes, and resolve issues during execution.
  • Collaborate with commissioning teams during testing, verification, and handover.
  • Prepare engineering documentation, reports, calculations, and deliverables with quality and safety in mind.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to maintain project performance and mitigate risks.

Job Role

The Electrical (ELE) Engineer (Data Center) is responsible for designing, validating, and delivering reliable electrical infrastructure solutions for large-scale data center projects. This role oversees the end-to-end engineering lifecycle, including electrical system design, technical evaluation, equipment selection, stakeholder coordination, and on-site engineering support to ensure successful project execution.

Working closely with project leadership, consultants, contractors, vendors, and clients, the successful candidate will ensure that all electrical systems are designed and implemented in accordance with project specifications, local regulations, and international data center standards. The role also supports technical clarification, engineering optimization, commissioning activities, and field issue resolution to ensure system reliability, operational efficiency, and timely project delivery.

This position is ideal for experienced electrical engineers with strong expertise in mission-critical facilities, power distribution systems, and data center infrastructure who are passionate about delivering high-quality engineering solutions in a fast-paced project environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive electrical system designs for large-scale data center projects, including Single-Line Diagrams (SLD), load calculations, power distribution layouts, cable routing, and Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
  • Design and validate High Voltage (HV), Medium Voltage (MV), Low Voltage (LV), UPS systems, generators, transformers, power distribution units (PDU), battery backup systems, and supporting electrical infrastructure.
  • Ensure electrical solutions comply with project specifications, local regulations, and international data center standards and best practices.
  • Define end-to-end electrical system architectures and evaluate equipment specifications to ensure technical compatibility, system reliability, redundancy, and energy efficiency.
  • Review and recommend appropriate electrical equipment, materials, and infrastructure components based on project requirements and engineering standards.
  • Lead technical discussions, solution reviews, and design clarification sessions with clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with equipment suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues, optimize engineering solutions, and ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Support construction, installation, and site execution activities by providing technical guidance and ensuring work is delivered according to approved engineering designs.
  • Conduct site inspections, review design modifications, evaluate technical change requests, and resolve engineering issues throughout project execution.
  • Collaborate with commissioning teams during system testing, verification, troubleshooting, and project handover to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Prepare engineering documentation, technical reports, design calculations, and project deliverables while maintaining compliance with quality, safety, and project standards.
  • Work closely with cross-functional engineering and project management teams to support timely project delivery, mitigate technical risks, and maintain overall project performance.
Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering design, MEP engineering, or technical project delivery.
  • Proven experience leading engineering activities within data center or other mission-critical infrastructure projects.
  • Hands-on experience delivering large-scale data center facilities with complex electrical systems is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of High Voltage (HV), Medium Voltage (MV), Low Voltage (LV), UPS systems, generators, grounding, surge protection, power monitoring, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, fire protection, and integrated MEP coordination.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, ETAP, or other electrical engineering software, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and adapt to dynamic project environments with frequent site deployments.
  • Willing to work flexible hours during critical project phases when required.
  • Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
