Job summary

Flex is establishing a new Embedded Power Manufacturing site in Batam as part of SpinCo and seeks an EHS Lead to guide Environmental, Health, and Safety programs. You will develop strategies, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate with global teams to align local practices with corporate standards.

You will drive safety culture, lead audits, and deliver training while managing environmental permits, waste, and incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in OH&S, Environmental Engineering, Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing.
• Certified AK3U (mandatory).
• Certified ISO 14001/45001 Lead Auditor or similar certifications preferred.
• Experience with Indonesian environmental and occupational safety reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site's EHS strategy, objectives, KPIs, SOPs, budget, and team development.
• Oversee environmental permitting activities (RKL-RPL, hazardous waste, compliance).
• Manage occupational safety, risk, machine safety, LOTO, PTW, incident investigations.
• Lead ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and RBA programs, audits, and compliance activities.
• Develop and deliver EHS training and awareness programs.
• Conduct Pre-Startup Safety Reviews for new buildings/equipment/processes.
• Communicate EHS performance to site, regional, and global leadership; engage stakeholders.

Job description

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, which we’re calling SpinCo, until the name is unveiled. The spin is planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support SpinCo, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.

The EHS Lead will be based in Batam and report to Site Leader (GM) / Regional EHS. This role will lead and manage all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) functions for a new Embedded Power Manufacturing site in Batam. The position ensures compliance with environmental permitting requirements, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, RBA, and applicable Indonesian regulations, while partnering with global EHS and regulatory teams to align local practices with corporate standards and drive continuous improvement in safety, health, and environmental performance.

Key responsibilities

Lead the site's EHS strategy, objectives, KPIs, SOPs, budget, team development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Lead environmental permitting activities, including RKL-RPL, hazardous waste management, environmental compliance, and industrial hygiene monitoring.

Lead occupational safety, risk management, machine safety, LOTO, Permit-to-Work, incident investigation, emergency preparedness, and contractor safety programs.

Lead ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and RBA management systems, audits, and compliance activities.

Develop and deliver EHS training and awareness programs for employees.

Conduct Pre-Startup Safety Reviews for new buildings, equipment, and processes.

Lead EHS communications, committee meetings, and engagement activities across the site.

Prepare and present EHS performance reports to site, regional, and/or global leadership.

Partner with customers, regulatory agencies, and cross-functional teams to drive EHS compliance and business objectives.

Maintain accurate EHS records and documentation to ensure compliance and audit readiness.

About you

Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 3-5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, including 2 years in an EHS lead or supervisory role.

Certified Ahli K3 Umum (AK3U) is mandatory.

Certified ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, Fire Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemical Management, and/or Electrical Safety certifications are preferred.

Experience in environmental permitting, site start-up, and facility commissioning activities is highly preferred.

Experience with Indonesian environmental and occupational safety reporting systems.

Strong leadership, communication, and English language skills.
