Job Description
EHS Programs & Management System Responsibilities
- Implement and integrate company EHS programs and develop facility-specific procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies.
- Serve as the company EHS Program Owner, leading the development or maintenance of procedures, standards, and training.
- Develop and implement facility-level EHS management systems to maintain compliance, environmental protection, and safe operating conditions.
- Manage the implementation and compliance of Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) standards across facilities.
- Maintain accurate chemical inventory on BHive and BVe3 platforms, conduct risk assessments, and ensure the safe handling and storage of chemicals.
- Provide targeted training on ZDHC standards to relevant teams to promote sustainability practices.
- Serve as the primary liaison for EHS-related audits at factories, including internal, external, and third-party inspections.
- Maintain and standardize documentation to ensure audit readiness.
- Lead corrective and preventive actions to address audit findings and promote continuous EHS improvement.
Training, Resource & Counsel
- Act as a resource to the site manager regarding EHS matters and as the daily point of contact for EHS issues.
- Assist management in understanding EHS regulations and standards, including compliance, inspections, and citations.
- Organize and oversee EHS functions to ensure effective accident prevention and compliance with policies and laws.
- Advise product and process engineers on environmental health and safety principles to prevent hazards and environmental impacts.
- Implement EHS education and training to meet regulatory and business needs.
- Represent the plant in ensuring contractor compliance with PSM requirements.
- Mentor facility safety teams, investigate releases, injuries, and near-misses, and manage related cases and recordkeeping.
Compliance & Safety Programs
- Ensure full compliance with local and international EHS and maintenance regulations.
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to monitor EHS and maintenance performance.
Maintenance
- Support production to ensure quality and operational efficiency.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment.
- Inspect and maintain shop equipment per OSHA regulations.
- Install and prepare new machines and equipment for operation.
Electrical & Electromechanical Focus
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and test circuits.
- Repair complex electrical systems and install electrical components following schematics and drawings.
- Assist engineers in diagnosing electrical issues and implementing solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Chemical, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 8+ years of EHS experience, including 5-6 years as Engineering Manager in manufacturing (preferably printing or paper packaging).
- Strong leadership, managerial, training, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of industrial safety, EHS regulations, ZDHC standards, chemical management systems, and TPM methodologies.
- Experience in developing and managing ERT programs and EHS training initiatives.
