Job Description:
- Manage, control, and organize the assigned service station, supervising 2 to 4 staff members.
- Assist Waiters and/or Café attendants; manage, control, and organize room service orders and dispatch when instructed.
- Manage restaurant reservations and seating arrangements as directed.
- Conduct stock takes and inventory following company procedures.
- Learn and use appropriate food and wine terminology to enhance the Guest's dining experience; familiarize with menu descriptions and wine lists to discuss items with guests.
- Have full knowledge of Viking's F&B options and ship activities; present menus, suggest courses and wines, and answer guest questions.
- Relay orders to the Galley using MXP Ordering Software; serve courses and beverages following safety policies.
- Serve food and beverages courteously and efficiently, maintaining company standards.
- Prepare and perform F&B activities and special events as assigned.
- Keep and store inventory stock according to set par-levels, following safety and sanitation rules.
- Ensure areas are set up per Supervisors’ and Viking’s SOPs.
- Minimize equipment loss/damage; maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards; clean and polish equipment, glassware, and flatware.
- Prepare mise-en-place 15 minutes prior to service.
- Participate in embarkation duties, including luggage assistance and guest escorting.
- Attend “The Daily Reunion” to align with operational needs and service standards.
- Provide high-level, sales-oriented service, maintaining hygiene standards and preparing for guest flow and activities.
- Wear appropriate PPE and use correct lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
- Secure company property, especially during rough weather, to prevent loss or damage.
- Demonstrate flexibility, work under pressure, and maintain a positive attitude and professional image.
- Gain knowledge of ports of call, shore excursions, and shipboard activities.
- Understand safety and security procedures; participate in safety and security training, drills, and exercises.
- Own responsibilities in F&B outlets, assist other departments, and perform additional duties as assigned.
