Job description

Company Description: Provider of Hotel and Marine Personnel to International Cruise Lines, Commercial Shipping and Hotels Worldwide.

Job Description:
  1. Manage, control, and organize the assigned service station, supervising 2 to 4 staff members.
  2. Assist Waiters and/or Café attendants; manage, control, and organize room service orders and dispatch when instructed.
  3. Manage restaurant reservations and seating arrangements as directed.
  4. Conduct stock takes and inventory following company procedures.
  5. Learn and use appropriate food and wine terminology to enhance the Guest's dining experience; familiarize with menu descriptions and wine lists to discuss items with guests.
  6. Have full knowledge of Viking's F&B options and ship activities; present menus, suggest courses and wines, and answer guest questions.
  7. Relay orders to the Galley using MXP Ordering Software; serve courses and beverages following safety policies.
  8. Serve food and beverages courteously and efficiently, maintaining company standards.
  9. Prepare and perform F&B activities and special events as assigned.
  10. Keep and store inventory stock according to set par-levels, following safety and sanitation rules.
  11. Ensure areas are set up per Supervisors’ and Viking’s SOPs.
  12. Minimize equipment loss/damage; maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards; clean and polish equipment, glassware, and flatware.
  13. Prepare mise-en-place 15 minutes prior to service.
  14. Participate in embarkation duties, including luggage assistance and guest escorting.
  15. Attend “The Daily Reunion” to align with operational needs and service standards.
  16. Provide high-level, sales-oriented service, maintaining hygiene standards and preparing for guest flow and activities.
  17. Wear appropriate PPE and use correct lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
  18. Secure company property, especially during rough weather, to prevent loss or damage.
  19. Demonstrate flexibility, work under pressure, and maintain a positive attitude and professional image.
  20. Gain knowledge of ports of call, shore excursions, and shipboard activities.
  21. Understand safety and security procedures; participate in safety and security training, drills, and exercises.
  22. Own responsibilities in F&B outlets, assist other departments, and perform additional duties as assigned.
