Job Description
Administration
- Ensure that the Department's activities align with the Corporate Human Resources Strategy and that the Hotel Actions are implemented appropriately.
- Represent the Human Resources function on the hotel's Executive Committee.
- Coordinate and monitor the activities of the Human Resources Division.
- Prepare and update the Human Resources Departmental Operations Manual.
- Ensure compliance with all Company/Hotel Human Resources Policies and Procedures.
- Implement government-stipulated employee legislation strictly.
- Oversee the hotel's employee welfare programs, ensuring benefits are relevant and competitive.
- Forward necessary Human Resources forms promptly to Regional/Corporate HR.
- Conduct regular Departmental Communication Meetings.
Customer Service
- Support service excellence by recruiting and training staff who provide exceptional service to guests.
- Ensure HR personnel deliver professional, courteous, and caring service to employees and visitors.
Financial
- Support the hotel's financial objectives through proper management.
- Prepare the Annual Human Resources Budget.
- Maintain staffing levels and payroll systems to maximize productivity and minimize costs.
- Research and propose competitive compensation, benefits, and incentive packages.
- Adhere to the Department's operational budget, controlling costs and securing proper approvals.
- Comply with all financial record-keeping, money handling, and licensing regulations, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Marketing
- Implement a strong Employee Communications Programme to maximize awareness of Aston International's Strategy and philosophy.
Operational
- Maintain Employee Facilities to high standards.
- Represent the hotel in union negotiations and related activities, collaborating with Corporate HR and Hotel Management.
Personnel
- Ensure fair and consistent treatment of all employees per employment terms, legislation, and policies.
- Oversee recruitment and selection processes, providing effective solutions to Department Heads.
- Support development of supervisory and management personnel through succession planning, coaching, mentoring, and leadership training.
- Oversee employee training and development programs.
- Assist in training HR staff to ensure they are skilled and effective.
- Foster strong professional relationships with employees, focusing on welfare, safety, and development.
- Ensure punctuality, proper uniform, personal hygiene, and grooming standards are maintained by employees.
- Implement Aston Behavioural Model 4E + 1P across all departments.
Other Duties
- Maintain professional relationships with industry peers, partners, and organizations.
- Adapt to changes in the HR function as industry, company, and hotel requirements evolve.
- Understand and adhere to the hotel's Employee Handbook, policies, and safety regulations.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned.
