We are seeking a highly experienced Edge Network Engineer to lead complex edge, network, and cloud platform deployments. This role will serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert during onboarding, migrations, and platform integrations. Success requires exceptional technical knowledge, strong communication skills, and leadership in technical workstreams and customer expectations.

The position involves customer-facing network design, implementation, configuration standardization related to routing protocols, switching, and security. As part of the Edge Network Engineering team, this role also acts as a Tier 4 escalation point from global support.

Experience with SD-WAN—especially Versa Networks—is a major asset and will elevate your candidacy.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead customer deployments of edge computing infrastructure, cloud integration, and SD-WAN platforms.
2. Act as the technical point of contact for implementation activities, including architecture, configuration, testing, and go-live support.
3. Collaborate with project managers, systems engineers, and stakeholders to align on design and timelines.
4. Troubleshoot deployment issues across OS, hypervisors, containers, and networks.
5. Develop automation scripts and reusable tools to improve deployment speed and consistency.
6. Document procedures, configurations, and lessons learned; contribute to internal knowledge bases.
7. Mentor junior engineers and support internal enablement and collaboration.
8. Participate in customer workshops to review implementation design for large or complex rollouts.

Qualifications:

1. Extensive Linux system administration and troubleshooting experience.
2. Proficiency with hypervisors like KVM and VMware.
3. Knowledge of containerization and lightweight Kubernetes (e.g., K3s).
4. Strong understanding of networking principles including routing, VLANs, firewalls, DNS, NAT, and routing protocols.
5. Hands-on experience with network interfaces, physical and virtual.
6. Experience with SD-WAN deployment and Versa SD-WAN is a plus.
7. Proficiency with diagnostic tools like tcpdump, Wireshark, iptables, netstat.
8. Experience with cloud providers such as Azure or AWS, VM provisioning, datastore, and SSO.
9. Comfort with REST APIs, Postman, Swagger, curl, Python scripting.
10. Knowledge of secure deployment principles; TPM, encryption, measured boot are a plus.
11. Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, Bash scripting.
12. Experience with ITSM platforms like ServiceNow or Jira.
13. Strong communication skills for documentation, escalation, and collaboration.

Preferred Background:

1. 5+ years in edge infrastructure deployment or similar.
2. Experience with edge orchestration platforms like Zededa, Azure IoT Edge, AWS Greengrass.
3. Experience with zero-touch provisioning, telemetry pipelines, or site/network architecture at the edge.
