Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Commodity Analyst located in Flex Batam.

Reporting to the Sr Materials Manager, the Commodity Analyst role is responsible for development, execution, and pricing of procurement risk strategies for Flex (focus on Indirect Materials).

What a typical day looks like:
  • Responsible for the development, recommendation, and execution of optimal sourcing strategies for certain items.
  • Develop a technical, statistical, and fundamental assessment for each commodity.
  • Lead cash negotiations and secure advantageous commercial agreements with approved suppliers.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions for annual and multi-year purchase commitments.
  • Coordinate selection of transportation modes and carriers to lower the delivered costs of materials while ensuring continuity of quality supply, flexibility to respond to changing requirements, and maintaining vendor relationships for long-term benefits.
  • Engage in cost management, reduction, and avoidance initiatives.
  • Manage inventories associated with strategic commodities to avoid additional expenses or shortages.
  • Analyze commodity risk positions reported to multiple levels of the organization.
  • Develop plans resulting in cost savings, synergies, quality improvements, and supply chain efficiencies.
  • Analyze hedge effectiveness and calculate cost savings and avoidance.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience or experience as a materials buyer.
  • Good communication skills with proficiency in English.
  • Proven program management and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with commodities and supplier management.
  • Great attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
