Job Description Summary

The Early Career Training program is a 12-month initiative designed to invest in young talents. GE Vernova trains fresh graduates who meet the required criteria to perform their traineeship within a GE Vernova business. The duration of the traineeship varies based on business needs and aims to develop general skills, provide on-the-job knowledge, and technical experience. Positions require understanding of concepts, methods, and procedures.

Role Purposes

Assist in executing daily repair engineering tasks by supporting workflow optimization, collaborating with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges, analyzing data to identify improvement areas, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of engineering processes.

Job Description

General responsibilities
  • Understand the overall gas power and PT GENTS business processes, including key business drivers. Use this understanding to accomplish work based on SQDCP principles. Understand how your team’s work integrates with others and contributes to the area.
  • Broaden knowledge of your technical discipline to support policy and strategy execution. Support roles may include specialized technical knowledge; higher-level skills are being acquired.
  • Support daily operations, define and control production processes, including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and the application of new products, tools, or equipment on the shop floor.
  • Make decisions within a defined framework. Resolve issues requiring technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consult senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions.
  • Develop strong interpersonal skills and possibly lead a team. For customer-facing roles, build customer relationships and serve as the interface between customer and GE. Explain technical information clearly.
  • Identify, propose, and execute specific projects for final reporting.

Repair Job Scope Management & Job Execution
  • Assess and validate repair scopes from Contractual Service Agreements (CSA) and Transactional (TX) customers to ensure alignment with technical requirements.
  • Prepare and submit repair scope documents, technical justifications, and cost impact assessments for engineering review and approval.
  • Address engineering feedback, propose alternatives if needed, and ensure final approval before repairs.
  • Communicate deviations from standard repair processes and collaborate on engineering-approved solutions.
  • Prepare and submit detailed repair condition and final repair reports, documenting inspection findings, repair processes, deviations, and outcomes to ensure transparency, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Productivity & Continuous Improvement
Implement lean manufacturing principles and foster continuous improvement in daily operations.
  • Participate in kaizen events.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving within internal and cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain detailed records of expenditures, materials, and labor to identify cost drivers and inefficiencies.
  • Implement tracking systems to automate cost and labor monitoring.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance cost efficiency.
  • Review cost trends and labor utilization reports periodically to support data-driven decisions.

Qualifications / Minimum Requirements
  • Fresh graduates up to 1 year of experience.
  • BS in Mechanical, Materials/Metallurgy, Industrial, or related engineering field preferred.
  • Active listener with good communication skills in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proactive with high integrity.
  • Aim to achieve project goals and customer satisfaction.
  • Team player with effective communication skills across functions.
  • Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 standards (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other CAD software is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret engineering data, test results, and quality reports.
  • Ability to write clear, concise technical documents.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
