Join the ECCO Graduate Programme – Footwear Development

Step into a career where craftsmanship meets innovation. As an ECCO Shoemaking Graduate, you’ll immerse yourself in the art and science of shoemaking, gaining hands-on experience in product development, materials, and production processes while shaping the future of footwear.

This two-year programme will take you deep into ECCO’s shoemaking expertise, from product development and material selection to manufacturing and sustainability. Selected candidates should expect short-term assignments across several countries.

Through rotations across key departments and countries, you’ll develop the skills, craftsmanship, and industry insights needed to excel in a global footwear business.

What You’ll Work On

Throughout the programme, you’ll gain exposure to:

  • Shoemaking techniques – Hands-on experience in pattern making, cutting, stitching, and finishing.
  • Material innovation – Understanding leather, synthetic alternatives, and sustainable materials.
  • Production & manufacturing – Learning factory processes, quality control, and efficiency optimization.
  • Sustainability in shoemaking – Exploring eco-friendly production methods and circular economy initiatives.
  • Product development & business impact – Collaborating with design, R&D, Product Operations Production and supply chain teams to bring products from concept to reality.

What Are the Requirements?

  • Education – You are about to graduate or have graduated within the last two years with a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Shoemaking, Leather Technology, Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Experience – Previous exposure to shoemaking, product development, or craftsmanship is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong English communication is a must, and knowledge of other languages is a bonus.

We’re looking for candidates who:

  • Have a hands-on, technically skilled approach to problem-solving and who enjoys hands-on craftsmanship
  • Are passionate about materials and innovation in footwear and who enjoy deepdive into problem-solving challenges and have a creative problem solving mindset.
